I’ve always felt that the scene is something that happens in the space between the actors.

Declan Donnellan

I was quite unprepared for how much I would love directing.

Having been an actor and then a producer of new plays for over ten years, in 2006, I read an extraordinary first play by a young writer named Laura Stevens, Thin Toes, and even though there was a part in it I could play, I felt very strongly I wanted to direct it.

After that terrific experience, I realised directing was something I wanted to focus on entirely and so by clicking on the sub pages, you can see the productions I have directed to date.
